Having been to the Lake District 5 times since June of last year, which was my first trip, I’ve been amazingly lucky with the weather. In every trip its been beautiful sunshine, even in December, and I was beginning to wonder if all this talk of the wettest place in England was some malicious rumour to keep the Lakes free of visitors!
This week we are heading up to Stonethwaite as a starting point with the intention of exploring the Scafell/Wasdale area and looking at the forecast for Saturday I think the law of averages is going to catch us out weather wise with 20mph winds and heavy rain expected. Forecasts do seem to be very inaccurate when it comes to 4 day forecasts and even more so in the Lakes where you can expect a different climate every couple of miles sometimes however I think for once Ill be actually making use of the waterproofs which so far have pretty much sat in my rucksack on everytrip.
